President Donald Trump Makes Jerusalem Israel’s Capital: Expect Revival?

I heard recently that president Donald Trump of the United States of America has declared Jerusalem to be the official capital of Israel. Many Christians are celebrating his decision in hopes of a revival of nations. They think that yoking up with unbelieving Israel will bring about divine favor upon the U.S, causing apathetic Christians to do exploits for the Gospel of Christ. In fact, evangelical preachers are already scheduled to meet with Israel’s prime minister as soon as next week!

Will making Jerusalem Israel’s capital save them?

No, the only way to save Israel is by preaching the Gospel to them. And, I’m not sure how making Jerusalem the capital is going to open the door for more preaching or cause anyone to believe something they’ve been stricky taught is a lie. The nation of Israel is deeply rooted in a false religion that doesn’t even resemble Old Testament Judaism.

Everyone knows that Israelites, according to the flesh, have dwelled in spiritual darkness for over two thousand years. They had an opportunity to receive Christ when He was manifested to them in the flesh but did not. They choose to reject Him and remain blind to the truth. I don’t expect this to change anything.

The Bible says, “Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father; he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.”

Above are the words of God Himself, and they were written by the Apostle John. According to these scriptures, and many others, it cannot be disputed that these people have been rejecting Jesus Christ for a very long time.

Aren’t Israelite’s God’s chosen people?

Most Israelites acknowledge Jesus Christ as a person, but they strongly reject the fact that He is the Son of God. It’s for this reason that God has cut them off and has chosen Believers in Jesus Christ instead to be His people. In fact, the only people ever saved in the Bible were those who believed the word of God.

The Bible says in Romans, “For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel, neither because they are the seed of Abraham are they all children, but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called; that is, they which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God, but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.”

So many people are misled into thinking that these antichrist type people are God’s elect, but the Bible teaches otherwise. The children of promise are God’s people, because only Believers have received Jesus Christ. “And,” as the Scripture says, “If ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”

People who are of the seed of Christ are God’s children.

Do we desire they come to Christ?

Yes, we want them saved! Every true Christian wants the citizens of Israel to receive Christ. And every true Christian wants the citizens of America to receive Christ. The apostle Paul himself expressed his burden for his kinsmen in Romans 9:3, where he said, “For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh.”

As we draw closer to God, He begins to share His heart for people with us; it’s God’s will that we all become so intimate with Him. Churches today are falling away from God and becoming unwise, and we see the evidence in the growing indifference to soul-winning, for he that winneth souls is wise.

We do not deny that God has the power to graft a nation into His favor, but they must believe the truth. There are some Israelites that believe, because according to the prophet Isaiah, “A remnant shall be saved.” The problem is there is a far greater number of unbelieving Israelites that are not God’s people.

I truly hope that president Trump’s decision will open the door for a revival of nations. It would be great to see Believers get a passion for God and the lost. However, that may not be what’s about to transpire.
